Curriculum & Departments

Middle School

At East New York Family Academy, we strive to make the transition from Elementary school to Middle School as smoothly as possible. During sixth grade, students are given an academic foundation meant to be used throughout their entire school career. During seventh grade, students will refine the skills they gained during their previous year and begin using their academic abilities as evidenced by several long term projects in English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. During eighth grade, students synthesize all of the information they have gained over the previous two years and engage in high school level coursework in US History, Algebra I, and Biology with the opportunity to earn high school credit and three regents exams in those subject areas.

High School

Our high school curriculum introduces the skills and ideas that students need to succeed in college and career.  Between ninth grade and twelfth grade, students are engaged in work and activities designed to create an easy transition between high school and college. All students complete New York State graduation requirements including passing five Regents exams as well as community service requirements. Additionally, all students are enrolled in Advanced Placement coursework with the opportunity to earn college credits in addition to College Now offerings from Brooklyn College.  Our graduates have gone on to competitive programs at schools such as Cornell, Harvard, St. John's and Alfred University.
